SC Decarbonisation Motor - Sustainable Packaging Solutions. A comparison in capability, cost and environmental impact.
Abstract
Connectivity & Sustainability - the two mega trends driving consumer preferences and with-it innovation pipelines, changing product mix and therefore the marketplace. In this context sustainability is meant as the environmental component of ESG.
Defining a sustainability play, setting goals, and communicate them via sustainability reports is not only good business practise it is demanded by a growing enviro awareness of new consumer needs.
Sustainability pledges getting communicated by board directors and published as brand differentiators. However, interestingly there is also a lack of details behind the long reaching goals of zero emissions.
This presentation will provide a qualitatively and quantitively overview of packaging solutions available in the APAC region. The consumer preference towards paper-based solutions will be thematized and real-life use cases presented.
The following questions will be answered:
- What packaging solutions are successfully in use in this region?
- How is APAC performing in comparison to the other beverage regions?
- What is the TCO of the implemented solutions?
- How much carbon reduction can be achieved through transforming to these new packaging solutions.
A deep dive into total cost of ownership, equipment assessment of the various OEMs and teething problems of converters will be showcased.
