Join us for an evening where learning meets laughter as eight Antarctic researchers and scientists take the stage. This event will feature 10-minute science comedy talks by conference participants from around Australia. Grab something to eat and drink from the Taco Taco food truck out front and enjoy a night of polar science – with a twist!
In collaboration with Future Science Talks, the Australian Antarctic Research Conference is bringing you this special show as a public event. Watch as our participants, who have honed their craft through pre-show workshops, deliver engaging performances that blend science and humour. They’ve worked on everything from scriptwriting and storytelling to stage presence and media skills.
We hope you’ll join us for a celebration of science and a night of laughs.

The Antarctic Women’s Network is hosting a Connection Café event where women mentors and those seeking mentoring can share their questions and stories. We are looking to build women’s roles in Antarctica, the sub-Antarctic and Southern Ocean. Senior women are encouraged to come along and offer their expertise and career experience to early and mid-career Antarctic women.
During the evening we will match mentors with those seeking mentoring so that your questions can be answered by an experienced woman. Get ready for an engaging and fun event!
Registrations will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
Light refreshments and drinks will be served during the event.
