Please assist the Local Organising Committee by providing some details as to your proposed presentation below and select your preferred presentation format, which are:

Plenary Session (40 minutes)
Motivate and engage our workshop attendees and create a memorable experience with a in-depth session in line with the workshop theme.

Panel Session (40 minutes)
Presentation 20 minutes in length which will conclude with a panel Q&A.

Hyde Park Corner Debate (30 minutes)
This format takes a central theme or question and has two speakers debate for and against. At the outset, the participants are polled to measure their opinion on the topic. Following the debate, they are polled again to see how many are now in favour or against. The winner of the debate is the speaker who caused the most audience members to change their votes.
Topic: “Should student spaces be discouraged from providing study spaces” or "New educational spaces are not a catalyst for direct improvement in learning".

ConverStations (25 minutes x3) ConverStations take place around tables, each with a limited number of seats. This provides for a more intimate setting, thus supporting interaction.
Each ConverStation is presented 3 times during this session. Presenters stay at their table, participants change tables. Each ConverStation lasts 25 minutes, of which 10 minutes is for presentation and 15 minutes for discussion.

Lightening Talks (5 minutes)
Fun and informative with a prize for the best speaker at the final session on day 2.

The program aims to cover a variety of topics including but not limited to:

  • Role of universities in city shaping
  • Lifelong learning
  • Transient global populations
  • High school student experience of space in education (year 12)
  • Residential college and student campus experience (including residential developments to help build and create the student experience and how this differs with rural and city campuses)
  • Maker spaces / providing informal study spaces
