Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) is the professional organisation for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant's (IBCLCs®), health professionals and members of the public who have an interest in lactation and breastfeeding in Australia and New Zealand
LCANZ provides a uniquely southern hemisphere approach to breastfeeding and lactation, demonstrating the abundance of knowledge, research and skill in our region.
As the peak body for lactation professionals in Australia and New Zealand, our activities include lobbying governments and NGO’s on breastfeeding issues.
It is our goal to support lactation consultants and medical professionals in order to improve the experiences of breastfeeding mothers.
Vision

Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ) serves as the key advisory body for health care providers and government authorities in matters relating to breastfeeding and human lactation.
Mission
LCANZ’s mission is to build and sustain a trans-national organisation, providing professional development, advocacy and peer support for all members.
Our mission commits us to the empowerment of breastfeeding women and their families/whanau.
We endeavour to advise and make representations to relevant State and National Government authorities on issues relating to breastfeeding and human lactation and the profession of lactation consultancy.

Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand Ltd (LCANZ) is the professional organisation for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC®) and others who have an interest in lactation and breastfeeding. Our core business is to provide members with information and educational opportunities to enable them to continue to advance their practice as lactation consultants and enhance the profession of Lactation Consultancy generally in Australia and New Zealand.
