09.45am- 11.00am | Session 1: Exploring the Methodologies for today and tomorrow This session is designed to encourage workshop participants to reflect on the evolving nature of methodology in contemporary research. Through stories of inquiry, growth and reflection, they’ll explore how scholarly identity is shaped over time, how methodological choices reflect deeper values and worldviews, including the impact of AI on our selection, use, and operationalisation of methodology, and how embracing complexity can lead to richer, more meaningful research. Beyond Method: Becoming a Researcher in a Changing World This session is designed to encourage delegates to think critically and reflect on their future careers, while remaining open to possibilities beyond academia. This session invites participants to reflect on their evolving professional identities and the diverse career pathways open to them. It will explore the value of research training (critical thinking, complex problem-solving, knowledge translation) and how these skills are transferable across sectors, sharing of ideas on the skills you have built and where you can use them if not academia.
