GETTING THERE



Below is all the information you’ll need on how to easily travel to Canberra.


Canberra is less than an hour by air from Sydney, one hour from Melbourne and less than two hours from Brisbane. 

Canberra International Airport is less than 10 minutes from the CBD. Connect to the city via rental car, limousine, public transport, shuttle bus, taxi or with a rideshare operator.

FLYING IN TO CANBERRA

Domestic Flights

Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Fly Pelican, Link Airways and Rex Airlines offer direct flights to 12 domestic destinations, including regional hubs, like Cairns, Newcastle and Hobart, and all state capitals and other major Australian destinations. 

International Flights

Canberra is connected internationally with 3 direct flights to Nadi, Fiji a week.



Land transport

Direct rail and coach services to Sydney and the South Coast are alternatives for delegates, with Murrays Coaches operating daily trips to and from Sydney, Narooma and Wollongong. The national freeways make Canberra an easy three-hour drive from Sydney



From canberra airport to city centre

Public Transport

Transport Canberra runs bus route Rapid 3 with regular services between the Canberra Airport terminal through to the City interchange, Belconnen interchange, Cohen Street interchange to Spence Terminus, seven days a week including public holidays. The Rapid 3 route operates every 15 minutes throughout the day (weekdays) and every 30 minutes on weekends. The trip from Canberra Airport terminal to the City is less than 20 minutes.

Rideshares

Your driver will pick you up from the Express Pick-Up Car Park, located on the ground floor of the GREEN Indoor Car Park, a short 20 metre covered walk from the Arrivals Hall. The Express Pick-Up has a dedicated passenger waiting lounge adjacent to the car park where you can wait for your ride in air-conditioned comfort.

Taxi

The taxi rank is located centrally on the ground floor of the terminal building, near the baggage carousels in the Arrivals Hall. The taxi rank is fully undercover and the waiting area is indoors for your convenience.

Car Rentals 

There are rental car companies located in the Canberra Airport: Enterprise rent a car, Europcar, SIXT, AVIS, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty. You can either pre-book, or book at the airport. Booking a rental car is easy – pick up yours, only meters from where you land.

Australasian Polymer Symposium (APS) The Polymer Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) has a long-standing history of organising the Australasian Polymer Symposium (APS) conferences.

The APS has a long established tradition of bringing together the polymer science and engineering communities of Australasia as well as esteemed polymer colleagues from around the world; from the current world-leaders in polymer research to academics, researchers, research students and industrial professionals from universities, research organisations and the polymer industry globally.

The APS also serves as an opportunity for national and international networking through an exciting forum of both formal presentations as well as informal idea exchanges in order to contribute towards the development of frontier polymer research.
