Allison is a consultant with her own practice who has worked in academia, government and private enterprise. She was once ‘taught’ by a university she worked for how to ‘do’ networking and has since drawn her own conclusions about making and building connections with colleagues.

Most recently, Allison has delivered Destination Management Plans in the Blue Mountains, Australia’s Coral Coast (WA), Australia’s Golden Outback (WA) and Destination Perth, producing suites of integrated plans at subregional, regional and destination levels. She also co-led the delivery of the Victorian Visitor Economy Masterplan in 2021. 

Previously working as Head of Research and Insights at Tourism Tasmania, Allison’s passion is for sustainable tourism management and building authentic place brand through experience development. Her academic research has focused on urban design and tourism, political processes and the delivery of tourism experiences at a destination level. She has worked as a Strategic Urban Planner, conducted social impact assessments, developed business plans and advised businesses on post disaster recovery. 

Allison is currently Chair of the Northern Tasmania Development Corporation, Deputy Chair of East Coast Tasmania Tourism board, and a ministerially appointed member of Tasmania’s statutory Parks and Wildlife Advisory Council.
